Spot Distributorship |
|
EUROSENSE is shareholder of Spot Image from the start-up and is official distributor of SPOT products since 2008. Spot Image is a worldwide distributor of products and services using imagery from Earth observation satellites and works through a network of subsidiaries, local offices (Australia, Brazil, China, United States, Japan, Peru, Singapore), and partners. The goal is to provide on-the-spot service with worldwide availability. Being a Spot Image distributor, EUROSENSE acts as an intermediate or local agent between Spot Image in Toulouse and clients who are interested in these satellite data. EUROSENSE is distributor for the different SPOT satellites (SPOT 1-5), FORMOSAT-2 and KOMPSAT-2. Some more explanation on these satellites is given below.
SPOT 2 - 4 - 5
The SPOT
constellation offers an unsurpassed acquisition and revisit capacity to
acquire
everyday imagery from anywhere in the world. SPOT imagery offers an
optimum
combination of resolution and coverage. A single SPOT scene covers a
footprint
of 60 km x 60 km in a full range of resolutions from 20
m down to 2.5 m, with a location accuracy often
better than 30 m. Such precise, synoptic coverage is ideal for
applications at regional and local scales from
1:100 000 to 1:10 000.
The SPOT satellites have built up a
global archive of millions of images
since 1986. This archive is a vast storehouse of recent and historical data for
multidate analysis. The SPOT satellites can also be tasked to meet your specific time and place requirements. Spot
Image's tasking service ensures your needs are effectively addressed at every
step, from requirements analysis and satellite tasking proposals through to
image validation and regular assessment of attempted image acquisitions.
SPOTMaps
SPOTMaps are seamless, uniform, orthorectified coverages across
whole national and regional territories produced with 2,5-metre colour
imagery acquired by the SPOT 5 satellite. Framed according to your area,
SPOTMaps are the ideal geographic reference for your visualization, mapping and
planning needs. SPOTMaps products are suitable for working at scales up
to 1:10 000.
SPOT DEM
A SPOT Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is a digital elevation model produced by automatic correlation of stereopairs acquired by the HRS instrument
on SPOT 5. Unlike a digital terrain model (DTM), which describes the
distribution of terrain or "bare earth" heights, a DEM includes "first surface"
elevations including vegetation and man-made structures. A SPOT DEM is a
gridded file with step sizes of 1 second of arc or 20 meters. SPOT DEMs
significantly improve registration of data layers in digital mapping. Therefore
they are also widely used in geographic information systems (GIS) for land
management and terrain modelling.
SPOT DEM Precision
SPOT DEM Precision is the only DTED (Digital Terrain Elevation Data) level
2 product of its kind on the market. It contains two layers of information: a High
Resolution Stereoscopic (HRS) Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and quality
and traceability metadata. The quality and traceability metadata provide
information at pixel level on horizontal and vertical accuracy, source data,
production processes and all corrections and checks. SPOT Precision DEM is the
only DEM to provide detailed information on the identification and location of
the kind of residual errors (gaps, artefacts, etc.) found in all DEMs generated
by automatic correlation. SPOT DEM Precision offers unmatched performance and
coverage of more than 50 million km² by 2009.
Reference 3D
Reference3D is a geocoded database containing three layers of
information: a DTED level 2 HRS DEM, GPS-compatible HRS Orthoimage and quality
and traceability metadata. Reference3D is the keystone of any application that
calls for very-high-accuracy elevation data. Reference3D is unrivalled in the
world for accuracy, coverage, with more than 50 million km² already covered by
2009. Reference3D orthoimages can be used to orthorectify imagery from most
Earth observation satellites-e.g. SPOT, FORMOSAT-2, KOMPSAT-2, QuickBird,
IKONOS, Envisat-when positional data are not available. Reference3D is an
excellent tool for building onboard databases for UAVs, missiles and aircraft,
and for mission planning well suited to defence ministries and armament
manufacturers.
FORMOSAT-2
FORMOSAT-2 is the
first and only high-resolution satellite
with a daily revisit capability. The spatial resolution of FORMOSAT-2 - 2
meters in panchromatic (black & white) and 8 meters in multispectral (colour) mode - is an additional asset for surveillance. Ideally suited to
strategic and operational intelligence missions, it is able to identify and
characterize military sites, naval bases, air bases and refugee camps; perform
reconnaissance of ships, aircraft and other assets; and surveillance of
strategic or industrial facilities. FORMOSAT-2's blue spectral band allows to
produce natural-colour composites without special processing.

KOMPSAT-2
The very high resolution satellite KOMPSAT-2
acquires imagery in black and white (panchromatic band) at a resolution
of 1 m and in colour (multispectral bands) across 4 bands in the visible (red, green, blue and near-infrared) at a resolution of 4 m.
Simultaneous acquisition of panchromatic and multispectral images means
that merged 1-m images are available as a standard product. KOMPSAT-2
images cover a footprint of 15 km x 15 km.
